Preferred Flooring is proud to say that Crystal was in the TOP 4 at TISE 2022 National Installer of the Year in the Resilient Category

Crystal entered into the competition with our work from numerous resilient project and was chosen to compete in the live competition at The International Surface Event held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. There were 8 contestants participating in the semi finals in 2021 with the top 4 moving to the FINALS in 2022. Crystal Sims was chosen as one of the TOP 4 along with Dave Bradfield, Jeffrey Riella and Mike McIntyre. Carpet Category included Chris Sessum, Gary Harrison, Zach Stacy, and Scott Zito.

Crystal Sims was the FIRST woman be in the competition and it was a HUGE deal for her to be in the TOP 4.

 

The 2022 Competition consisted of 2 categories

  • Carpet - Winner Chris Sessum

  • Resilient - Winner Dave Bradfield

 

Preferred Flooring had a great TEAM out to support Crystal while she competed. Although she did not win 1st place, she is recognized as one of the TOP installers in the Country!

“I don’t think I can even put into words how absolutely nervous I was going into the Semi Finals. I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t think I was “talented” enough to go against people who have been working with Resilient for 30+ years! I was most nervous of what the work order would be like, because we wouldn’t receive it until the day of the competition. I just kept telling myself “ All you can do is your best and forget about the rest”. Once I got into the box I had to shut my feelings off and just do the task assigned to me without fear of judgment; So that’s what I did. After day 1 I felt a little more relaxed and able to perform as though it was just another project I was installing. Once I found out I made the cut (Top 4 Finalist), I was nervous all over again! Overall it was definitely an experience I would not change one bit, even though I did not take home the trophy, “losing” taught me more than I ever imagined it would and when I was done ugly crying over it, I was able to take away the actual wins and see myself in a whole new light!” - Crystal Sims
