I was born and raised in Grand Rapids Michigan. I love my city and that is why I chose to plant roots here at home. I started in the flooring industry Jan 7, 1998. Since then, I have learned so much about my craft and I will continue to learn as the years go on. Preferred Flooring was formed so that we could offer our unique views and skill set to our clients. We hope that one day we could become an essential staple in the Grand Rapids Community.
Hard work accompanied with great work ethic and an Entrepreneur mindset has lead me to where I am today. I look forward to getting an opportunity to work along side you to create great memories and the best flooring experience.

Crystal Sims
I have been in the flooring industry for almost 13 years. Being a woman in an industry full of men has its challenges, but I like to see these challenges as opportunities. My great eye for detail and the pride I take in my craftsmanship has been my biggest attribute. When I’m not crafting you can find me spending time with my husband and three boys! We love sports and movie nights equally! I can’t wait to show you how we Set The Standard with your next installation!
Charles McCray
I am 46 years old. I have been working in flooring for about 20 years. I am reliable, hardworking and like to have a positive attitude and work hard at what ever I do. I am a fun loving guy who likes to have fun and I love all things outdoors. Summertime is spent playing cornhole, softball, camping, having barbecues, spending time with my family and enjoying bonfires. I like to travel and love taking long roadtrips with family and friends.
Justice Galloway
Blythe California born and raised by a single dad, a jack of all trades who happened to be born in the 1930s. Have been blessed to be introduced to the flooring trade about 11 years ago now. I enjoy the artistic aesthetics and physical challenge of changing environments from start to finish. I strive daily to be as clever, strong and intuitive and to always be humble in my mistakes and successes for it is the result of the team as a whole. I enjoy being a part of the Preferred family and being around those who push me to meet the standard just by being a great mentor and example. The only thing I adore more than flooring is my doggo and wife who are my amazing home support system and have helped me be healthy, both mentally and physically, to face the challenges of everyday I'm blessed to face. I look forward to seeking and sharing knowledge as I grow in my field. Preferred has definitely given me the platform to do just that.

Hello everyone, I’m Flo from Preferred, I am part of the Blood of the Preferred Flooring Family. I’ve been working with my Uncles José and Daniel since I was just 14 years old, over the years I’ve developed a passion for Flooring and I’m ready to use this industry as a stepping stone to achieve my dreams of becoming a professional Singer. I was born and raised in Boston, Ma and been living in Michigan since the early 2000’s. Did a lot of different work and learned different trades, and put myself in a good mindset of that there is nothing that I can’t do. I love to feed the mind with new knowledge and information. I have 3 boys and married to the floor goddess that you all know Mrs. Crystal Sims! We push to succeed in life and look for the best guidance that we all can get from everyone. Been doing flooring for quite some time now and continue to keep pushing to elevate and have an open mind about the industry to gain a lot from it as it grows more. Looking forward to new growth.
